The Boogie Board tablet was a popular item with celebrities from the television, movie and recording industries at the recent GBK Kids’ Choice Awards Gift Lounge in Los Angeles. Visitors to the gift lounge included:

Over 65 celebrities, many of which were award presenters and nominees, received a Boogie Board tablet and sleeve along with products from other gift lounge sponsors.

The celebrities responded very enthusiastically to the Boogie Board tablet and it’s ease of use, flash-to-erase, and environmental-friendliness. Comments included:

Improv Electronics is expanding distribution for the Boogie Board tablet in Europe! The Boogie Board tablet was sold primarily in the U.S. and Asia following its launch in 2010. Production capacity for the year sold out and sales were 10 times forecast. We have taken several steps to prepare for expanded European distribution including a significant increase in our production capabilities.

We just sent out a press release in Europe announcing this news. It included the following quotation from our sales director, Jon Manke. “We are very excited to bring the Boogie Board tablet to Europe. More than any other region in the world, Europe has embraced an environmentally conscious lifestyle. We expect the current Boogie Board tablet, as well as several coming variations and accessories, to become an integral part of that lifestyle.” He also said, “Because the tablet has a wide buyer demographic and fast-moving, high volume sales, it also appeals to resellers and distributors across many market segments including gadgets, gifts, office supplies, home products, computers and mass merchandisers.”

The Boogie Board tablet made its first appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this month.

The six new tablet colors were introduced to a media-only audience at Showstoppers @CES on the evening of Thursday, January 6. Over 1300 global media members attended the event. Demonstrations of the Boogie Board tablet drew a large crowd for nearly five hours.  

Representatives from Improv Electronics also conducted numerous TV and radio interviews during the evening. These included CEO Albert Green (pictured) on the syndicated radio show Tech Talk with Craig Peterson which is broadcast to the New England area of the U.S.

In addition to the new Boogie Board tablet colors, Improv Electronics also previewed upcoming products at Showstoppers including the Boogie Board LCD Writing Tablet for Ring Binders, the Boogie Board Message Center and a larger Boogie Board LCD Writing Tablet with save. These products will be launched in 2011 along with a larger Boogie Board tablet without save and an iPod Touch Case featuring a Reflex LCD for decorative purposes.

The new colors are the next step in creating a comprehensive family of Boogie Board tablets and accessories. Several more new additions to the family will launch in 2011.
